That being said... OP, I think you are taking this way too personally.
In my experience, the people who talk like this, with their elitist dogmatism, black-and-white god complex ways of thinking, are always people that are actually suffering in some way. Yes, they are miserable and insufferable on the inside and out. They are likely 100lb/50kg heavier than you think they are. They hate their life. Neurospicyness is practically guaranteed.
I don't mean to say those things to put them down, but just to remind you that these people, by virtue of their actions, are inherently NOT as smart as you think they are, and do not deserve the amount of space in your brain that you give them.
Learning to laugh and shrug off these kinds of opinions from your article comment has made me much happier.
