I stumbled across this forest on Maps [0] and ended up hiking 6 miles through it today. Some of the trees are easily over 1,000 years old. It felt like walking through a scene from a Hobbit movie, absolutely magical. The idea of it disappearing is heartbreaking.

this must be one of the worst things this administration is trying to do. old growth forest is almost impossible to get back once it is gone especially outside the tropics. and all this to pay for tax cuts .. absolutely criminal.

It has been interesting seeing the commentary from right-wing voters who base a lot of their personality on hunting etc respond to this. It feels like a lot of people have been caught off guard after the fact, even though the party did indicate their intentions before the election.
