Difference Between Expat and Immigrant

My thoughts on the Expat vs Immigrant issue is one of permanence. Being an Expat is temporary as you're living in the other country until you return back to your home country or you become an immigrant and choose to stay. While being an immigrant is deciding to permanently move to another country.
